| First there was the 'cuneiform' writing (font and alphabet all in one). Cuneiform' derives from a Latin word meaning 'wedge' because writers wrote with a stick shaped like a wedge on a damp clay. The next font/alphabet was created by the Egyptians, and is known as 'hieroglyphic'. |
